This Privacy Policy explains how B Circular ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit this website or subscribe to our newsletter. It applies to visitors worldwide, including those in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.

What information we collect

We collect only the information you provide voluntarily:

  • Your email address (and optionally your name) when you sign up to our newsletter via MailerLite.
  • Any information you include when you email us directly.

We do not collect any other personal data through this website, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

Why we collect it and our legal basis

We use your information solely to send you our newsletter and respond to direct enquiries.

  • UK & EU (GDPR / UK GDPR): Our legal basis is your consent, given when you tick the opt-in checkbox and click Subscribe. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Canada (PIPEDA / Law 25): We rely on your express consent at the point of sign-up. Quebec residents have additional rights under Law 25 (see below).
  • United States: We comply with applicable state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) where relevant.

Third-party services

We use MailerLite to manage our mailing list and send newsletters. Your data is stored and processed on MailerLite's servers. MailerLite is GDPR-compliant and certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Please see the MailerLite Privacy Policy for full details.

We use no other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools on this website.

Data retention

We retain your email address on our mailing list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of any newsletter, or by emailing hello@bcircular.org. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.

Cookies

This website does not set any first-party cookies. MailerLite's embedded signup form may set functional cookies necessary for the form to operate. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion / erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Objection / restriction — object to or restrict how we process your data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format (UK/EU/Canada).
  • Withdraw consent — opt out at any time without penalty.
  • Non-discrimination — we will never treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights (US/California).

International data transfers

If you are located in the UK or EU, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your region (including the US, where MailerLite operates). MailerLite uses Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework to ensure an adequate level of protection for such transfers.

Children's privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Where required by law, we will notify subscribers directly.
